The AKITA can be individually adjusted for each patient on the basis of a lung function test. The optimum breathing pattern (no of breaths, flow rate and volume) is programmed onto a smart card, which, similar to a phone card, is slid into the AKITA device before the first inhalation.
The Smart Card carries the individual breathing pattern of the patient as well as the compliance protocol.
In this way, we tailor the inhalation treatment for each patient and for each drug. This ensures an optimum treatment for every patient and every drug.
